TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Payment and Cancellation

The first half of the rent total is due upon reservation as deposit. The receipt for this first payment will make this contract valid. (We will find means of transfer (wise.com, paypal, ACH transfer etc.) and find the most economic solution. Please understand that the amount total as specified on p 1 does not include transfer fees.

Cancellation is free up until six weeks prior to arrival—we will refund exactly the sum we received (conversion and transfer fees not included).

If you cancel after that period but five days before scheduled arrival, cancellation fee will be 25% of the received sum total. Cancellation fee after that date will be the deposit whole.

The second half of the rent will be due once you will have checked in and found everything alright. We grant a 4% discount on any part of the sum total paid cash in Mexican Pesos. (Exchange rate to mxn on the day of payment according to xe.com)

As security, we will accept either a deposit an equivalent of USD 300 which will be refunded no later than three business days after check out, or a photograph of (both sides of) your credit card. That photo need not be sent in advance, it will suffice to have us take said photograph upon your arrival.

Checking in and out, further information and assistance

You are welcome to check-in from 4 pm on, and we will ask you to check out by 11 am.

It is possible to self check-in with keypads,
the codes will be provided prior to your arrival along with detailed instructions on how to find us, modes of transportation from the airport, and, if you like, information on things to do in the area, particular on such as need booking in advance, followed by recommendations about breakfast and dining, coffee and drinks, beaches, tours and the like.

On many occasions, the house will be ready for you earlier than 4 pm. We will stay in touch and let you know.

Cleaning Service

Included in the rent, we provide cleaning and maintenance twice a week. This would happen at a time of your convenience. The cleaners are (usually) in from 9am to 3pm. Although cleaning can sometimes be undertaken spontaneously, usually it is best to schedule it at least one day ahead.

If you prefer us not coming in, we will provide a cleaning kit, new towels and bed sheets etc. from the outside.

Please keep in mind:

The house is sited in a relatively quiet neighbour-hood and we live in another house on the premise ourselves. Please understand that we don’t allow people in the house who are not registered as guests. Please refrain from loud partying at all times, and respect sleeping hours after 10 pm.

Please do not smoke indoors, not even with windows open.

We trust you will treat the house and everything in it with caution. Please understand that we must insist you take responsibility for any damage you may cause. Of course, whenever you harbour any doubt as to how a particular item is to be used properly, we are there to help and explain.

Since we had various such incidents: Please do not burn incenses directly on any surface, even such as walls, plastering, cement, concrete. Burning incenses leaves deep marks in the sealed surface that require repairing, in many cases remaking large parts at high cost.

As (almost) anywhere in Mexico, toilets unfortunately don’t take toilet paper. Please don’t leave toilet paper or any other paper / plastic waste in the toilets. They may otherwise clog.

There is air conditioning in the Casita, and in the Casa in all bedrooms, dining and living room. You are of course welcome to use them whenever you like. If you do, please make sure you close all doors and windows in the respective spaces. (Electricity in Mexico is mostly imported and far more expensive than in the U.S.)
The units are powerful. They cool down the space in minutes. Please do not pre-cool rooms for later use, and please turn off the ac when you leave.
Thanks!

We will make every effort to make your stay as perfect as possible, however we cannot take responsibility for incidents beyond out control, such as interruptions in electrical or water service (happens rarely but happens), disturbances by town festivities, construction noise, early morning roosters, dogs, tropical storms and the like.

Please do note that Sayulita is not a resort but a live Mexican village. Noisy vehicles do pass by, a dog sometimes barks, at some point there may be some construction work two lots down the road, and on rare occasions, people party in the neighbourhood (we go try and stop them if that happens).

The property is well secured on all sides. However, we cannot take responsibility for items lost or stolen during your stay. There is a safe for you in every bedroom. We encourage you to store all valuables in them when leaving but also, to avoid any misunderstanding, when our staff comes through.

Similarly, we cannot take responsibility for any accidents or injuries that may occur during your stay.
